I Do Love A Good Bath!

I swear the sky is bluer out in my neck of the woods than anywhere else! And colder! And we know we get more rain and snow! A simple measuring stick tells ya that!

I am learning to love my land. It is taking a while, I must confess. to appreciate the silence, the "isolation", the aloneness. But I am getting there.

We we were gifted with a minivan recently and that has helped me immensely. Now I am able to run to the store if need be, attend all the church functions (not just tho on Sunday morning), and visit friends. And of course, run to the laundromat every week! Until our well is dug I am trucking it all in to town and getting it all done at once. Whew!

Offgrid living has it's share of challenges but I think the emotional ones are tougher than the physical ones. My hubby works long hours and the bulk of everything lies on me and sometimes I just get burned out so I am trying to learn to relax. After all- I have all the time in the world lol

Well yesterday I had had it! So I lit a fire in the stove, pulled the rubbermaid bin up close to it, heated more water than normal and got in! I used my handmade soap and lathered up and took a bit longer than usual. I feel so much better!!

That's it for blogging today- thanks for joining me!

Praise God for baths! Our water pump is not working and our water source is a spring and 2 cisterns WAY down a steep hill. While the ground was frozen yesterday hubby was able to take the 50 gallon container down 2x for water but baths and laundry ...few and far between. But I'm like you. I've had it and today I WILL have a bath! And wash my hair! :) Glad you're getting used to living "in the country" and it's great you have a van. Have a blessed week-end, Tami!

I miss living off the grid, sometimes. . . often. What I miss is the isolation and the quiet. Though, I haven't been off the grid since I was a child. Have you tried popcorn on the wood stove yet? It is the best and I do miss that the most!
