Creating A Household Notebook

I, like many bloggers,  have a household notebook. I use mine in a way that works for me, just as you should use yours in a way that works for you.
My notebook has the following categories:

schedule- a loose timeline of what we do when.

homeschooling-a copy of my state's laws, my hslda info, and past reviews.

menus- I have a list of 60 meals  so I can easily plan the next week's food supply. I also keep a list of how long certain foods can be frozen so I can keep track of it. I keep a separate notebook for recipes.

budget-self explanatory

phone and address directory

kids' art projects I want us to do.- whenever I clip an article from a magazine detailing an art project I put it in here so I don't lose it. Family Fun magazine is a great resource.

Christmas mixes I want to make ( see my side bar for Cottage mama's holiday recipes ebook-it has the gingerbread man on it!)

Christmas card and gift checklist- organizedhome.com is where I get the charts for all this.

a list for travelling- check off what needs to be done before I leave . this is very helpful!

warranties and directions for appliances. this is probably the most useful section I have lol

I keep all this together , not so I can be part of the gang, but because it helps me stay organized and will be a valuable tool if my family needs something and I am not here.
Some days are hard because I have lupus and fibro. I don't get  out of bed every once in awhile  and my kids follow this notebook as to keep on track.
It's not as big and detailed as some are but it works for me!

I do like your ideas. I have tried in the past to make one, but have never gotten it done.

I have always thought of using a household notebook for cleaning routines, but I never thought to use it for recipe clippings! What a great idea - I have them all over the house and it would be nice to keep them in one place! Thanks!

I really need to get mine back out, update it and add to it. I've sort of let it slide the last couple of years since we started home schooling. Thanks for the reminder.

Wonderful Idea! I have really been slacking on all things domestic, this would be a good jump start!
