well what a past few days!
monday , early in the morning, my husband and son were involved in a head-on collision while going to work. both cars were totaled.
ALL INVOLVED WALKED AWAY!
banged up, bruised and sore but alive!! PRAISE THE LORD!!!!
apparently the other driver hydroplaned and was spinning around. he was at the foot of the bridge when my dh came over it. they collided at a combined speed of 120 miles an hour.
the front end of the car is of course smashed. the front tires were ripped off. something underneath the car is sticking out at an angle but it was never there before. the windshield is crashed in.
my loved ones were in that. my heart and soul were there at that impact.
when i went to see the van i managed to worm my way into the passenger side , even with the door bent at an angle. i just had to see the airbags that saved my family's lives. i just had to touch the very things that protected them. i sat where my son was and saw what happened. i saw what became of where he was. his leg is hurting but he's alive! i cried.
do you understand? without those airbags they would not have lived. the police were shocked as it was.
was it the airbags? yes. but why? because of God's angels that's why. He has my guys in the palm of His hand and He said "not now" i am so thankful!
today we spent the hours getting a rental car, calling insurance and the like. praise God my husband is able to do these things. i cry when i think what i could have been doing today.
please give your life to Christ so you can have His angels watching over you too.

money is a tool.
let's make this simple- if i need some tomatoes but don't have any because i have no money i can do without OR use another tool. maybe my neighbor has tomatoes - i can trade my bananas for her tomatoes or i can babysit for free in exchange for those tomatoes.
i didn't have one tool- money- but i had other tools.
i know we need actual money to pay the power bill BUT maybe we can use a different tool if need be for other things?
THINK OUTSIDE THE BOX!
notice how in the bible wealth doesn't always mean actual money? sometimes it means bounty- you can use a variety of tools to get your bounty. which would you rather eat- a tomato or a dollar bill? which is more valuable?

a little is better than nothing
go HERE to see more
this week was baby steps compared to other weeks but i am still preparing as best i can :)
money is a huge obstacle for me so nothing big this time. but as you all remind me , something is better than nothing!
i purchased a large box of dry milk, a container of oatmeal, several cans of soup, 2 large bags of beans,3 jars of spaghetti sauce and 2 boxes of spaghetti noodles to store away in my emergency cabinet. this is added to what i have gotten in weeks past.
i collect in whole meals becuz it's easier for me to plan it out and hubby likes it better. we have actually had to dig into the emergency cabinet a few times and use those meals lol
normally i don't use boxed milk but in case of an emergency anything is better than nothing!
with the hens giving us almost 4 dozen eggs a week and the wheat barrels we purchased at income tax time we are getting a good start on prepping.

NOT TRYING TO SCARE YOU BUT.....
i truly believe extremely hard times will hit this country within the next 1-4 yrs. i truly believe that it is possible- tho i pray not- that people will not be prepared and will suffer or die because they are not prepared. not just food wise but in every way we can imagine.
i am giving you a list of questions to ask yourself. i am not endorsing any product but i did take this list of qs from this site. for the record i have not bought, nor do i plan to, anything recommended on this site. i just wanted to share the qs with you.
* How would you survive a terrorist attack that caused widespread panic and shutdown all shops and stores in your area? Would you be forced to beg neighbors for food or be shipped off to FEMA camps?
* Could you and your family survive hurricanes or snowstorms that whipped your neighbors into a “panic-buying” frenzy - grabbing any food they could get their hands on? What if the stores weren’t restocked for weeks?
* How would you live during weeks of “rolling blackouts” making it impossible to store food or for stores to get more food in stock?
* What would you do if your home was hit by floods, washing out roads and making it impossible for stores to supply food for weeks – would you survive?
* How would you deal with protesting labor unions refusing to ship food – would your kids go hungry?
* What would you do if an earthquake rocked your home and disrupted all abilities to get supplies in or out (this would be devastating anywhere, but especially in a city)?
The sad part is, people don’t think any of these very real disasters will ever happen – or at least, won’t happen to them (maybe this is what you’re thinking)…
History says otherwise:
Remember these recent disasters that cost thousands of lives…?
* In 2011 after the TÅhoku Tsunami in Japan over 300,000 people were evacuated to camps where some died. Survivors lined up for blocks outside of 7-11s and grocery stores for a scrap of food.
We have seen how the US Government,
FEMA and Local Authorities respond
to disasters when Hurricane Katrina hit.
* During Hurricane Katrina in 2004 stores closed, looters ran wild and everyday, hardworking people were forced into begging and ended up at FEMA camps.
* The 2004 Indian Ocean Tsunami wiped out the shops, stores and food transportation channels for many people.
* In the 2010 Haitian Earthquake, followed by the massive Chilean Earthquake as many as 316,000 people were killed and are still struggling to reestablish consist access to food.
And every year in the US alone there are tornadoes touching down in the southeast, blizzards throughout the northwest, earthquakes out west, severe droughts in central US, wildfires in California, and floods literally everywhere.
In fact, FEMA states that every American lives in a flood zone. The only question is if you’re in a low, medium, or high-risk area.
So remembering what can happen we’ve got two options:
You Can Put All Your Hopes For
Survival In The Government & FEMA…
Or You Can Take Survival
Into Your Own Hands…
Please believe me when I say, as a fellow American I want to help you and your family survive any way I can. That in mind, you need to know: this could be the most important letter of your life – and your family’s life – so keep reading. You’ll see why in a second…
As the author of the top-selling guide Survive-Anything I’ve done my homework – and what I found was pretty scary…
It’s common sense.
Any 5 year old can tell you – without food and water we’re in trouble…
A human can die just hours after dehydration – especially if they’re physically exerting themselves (like running from a mob or fighting off an attacker).
And life without food means a slow and painful death, starting with confusion and diarrhea and ending with spine-wracking convulsions and hallucinations from hell. (Tami's note- think about your children!)
It’s not fun to think about, but even if a crisis only lasts a few weeks it can be deadly to you and your family if you’re not prepared.
But the scary part is…
If You Buy The Wrong Food Items,
You'd Have Been Better Off Buying
Nothing At All…
Can you really fight through a crowd to get your kids food - or will you get beat? If you know which food items to buy in advance you'll never have to find out.
It’s crushing when your kids realize that their Dad was wrong and your wife feels like you failed to protect the family (even if they’d never say it)…
Even though I don’t know you from Adam, as my fellow patriot I don’t want that to happen to you or your family and I’m sure you don’t either.
And that’s why I’ve put together this list of 37 crucial food items.
The thousands of people who have been helped by my Survive-Anything guide need to know what these items are. Heck every American needs to know what these are…
Because honestly, without these crucial items you’re family isn’t going to be prepared – and they disappear at even the hint of a crisis.
There’s no way around the fact all foods aren’t created equal. Some are completely worthless nutritionally. And your family’s health is too important to waste money of foods that will kill them slowly in a crisis.
The sad part is, even though the average American doesn’t know what to look for, they’ll grab anything and everything from the store in a crisis.
Please don't get the crazy idea you can live off just MREs (in fact they're not even on the list...)
That’s why you need to know in advance…
* Why you're KILLING your family if you're counting on a garage-full of MREs or other "survival food" for a crisis…
* Why food your wife normally buys is almost perfect, but the thing she hasn’t thought to buy is crucial (this caught me off guard when I found out…)
* Why your food is worthless if you buy the wrong packaging (there’s nothing more demoralizing than finding your carefully packed food crawling with maggots and realizing your family is going to have to go hungry…)
* How to pack your food like a Special Forces soldier so your family will be have the basics even if you have to run…
* How to tell if you’re going to make your family sick by eating expired food, or if it’ll be just as good for you as the day it was packaged (crucial for long term disasters like a food crisis!)…
* Why this brand of alcohol should be at the top of your list, even if you don’t drink…
Right now people look down on we patriots who take the obvious danger seriously and are making preparations. Sometimes our neighbors or even family say we’re “crazy” or “kooky” but…
People May Say We're "Crazy" Now...
But We'll See Who Was Right When
They're Asking Us For Help!
And as Christians we won’t even say “I told you so.”
See, there’s going to be no way to buy any of these critical items after a crisis.
You know that and I know that.
But spoiled-rotten Americans think they snap their fingers and get what they want.
The fact of the matter is, it doesn’t matter how rich, popular or politically correct you are. When people are starving and panicking you’re not going to get what you need without a fight.
That’s why you must get these crucial items before the panic. And why we’re going to be the people on top of the game when crisis hits.
See with these 37 items you’ll be in place to:
* Attract like-minded Americans to rebuild our nation based on the constitution – without all the liberal crap…
* Be a community leader ready to protect and provide for your fellow patriots…
* Set the example for your close friends and family (these 37 items are so important you'll become the disaster 'go-to' guy)…
And the great thing is these 37 items won't break the bank. But the big problem is, if you don't have them in advance…
Many Stores Will Close, And Spoiled
Americans Will Panic…
So many Americans try to pretend like “nothing is going to happen” or “there’s no reason to ‘freak-out’”.
And then they run to the store and strip the shelves bare the first time the news even mentions crazy weather (imagine if they announced something like 9/11 again).
Nearly every major news outlet (New York Times, USA Today, The Economist and more) have run articles warning of the coming food shortage…
How do you think they’re going to act when their favorite grocery store has its windows smashed and nothing left on the shelves?
By starting a panic and looting every store around. But more on that in a second…
What I can’t understand is why they’re ignoring the evidence. It’s obvious you need these critical food items now. Take a look at these recent news bulletins:
* Researcher Kent Arnspiger recently exposed grocery
stores for their poor planning. They only carry 3-4
days worth of food (that’s gone in hours during a
crisis) so you won’t be able to get your hands on things
your family needs to live – unless you have it in advance.
* The Mayo Clinic recommends you drink about 2 liters of water every day. How much water would you have if, God forbid, terrorists poisoned our water supply or nuclear fallout made rainwater undrinkable? (If you’ve got bonus #1 this isn’t a concern)
* And worst of all Fox News reports “…lack of acreage [in the US]… will usher in a significant food shortage.”
How people can’t see the obvious truth is beyond me…
But, when a crisis strikes who are these clueless freeloaders going to try and come to?
You guessed it: you and your family who were wise enough to stock up on the necessities before the crisis.
But the problem is…
If You Think Food Is Expensive Now,
Imagine What It's Going To Be Like
When The Stores Shut Down And
Farms Can't Feed Their Livestock…
This medal remembers Germany after WWI, when a pound of bread cost 3 BILLION Marks. Many economists see the US heading in a similar direction.
There’s no way to deny that food prices have been skyrocketing as it is. Which makes it even more important to buy these 37 critical items before the prices go even higher.
After all, when your family is hungry, and you’re not sure where you’ll be able to get these crucial items again would you sell any?
Heck no.
If you were going to sell some of your precious food, how much would you charge? That food would be worth its weight in gold. Literally.
If your family is less than rich or even in some debt right now, you need to buy the essential food items while you still can.
Look at what happened in Germany when hyperinflation hit – one pound of bread cost 3 billion marks. And the US is on the same crash course.
PLEASE THINK ABOUT YOUR ANSWERS.
like i said- i have not ordered anything from this site nor do i plan to. you may want to and that's great! but please DO SOMETHING!

Homemade Mayo
my recipe- i tweaked all the ones i read online to make it mine-
2-3 egg yolks it helps to let the eggs come to room temp - in about 2 hrs- but you don't have to (it just takes longer)
-1 Tbs vinegar
1 tsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1 cup olive oil
Blend everything but the oil with your immersion blender in the tall cylinder that came with it. Add the oil, pouring slowly while blending constantly
like they say- once you make your own you will never eat storebought again!!
i keep mine in the fridge for about 3 or 4 days.

Motherhood is not for wimps!
Motherhood is not for wimps!
_________________________
There are those who would spurn the vocation of mothers
And say of careers, it’s inferior to others,
I'll have to admit that it's not easy work,
It's relentless and from it you cannot shirk.
It takes all of your energy being a mother and wife,
Requiring daily commitment and a disciplined life,
It demands all your resources of patience and love,
Long-suffering and wisdom from the Father above.
It takes self-control and continual endurance,
It needs constant faith and great perseverance,
It means total sacrifice, forgetting your self,
Sometimes you think that you’re left on the shelf!
And what about time? It’s no longer yours,
It belongs to all those who come in your doors.
Claim your own rights? No, they're all gone too,
Like your right to sleep the whole night through!
It's not so easy to crawl into bed with a book
Or go off and dream in some quiet little nook.
It seems like you're totally losing your life
To be a good mother and a submissive wife.
But oh, faithful mother, please do not despair,
In God's perfect plan you do have a share,
To fulfil your destiny planned from creation
Which is to nurture children and BUILD A NATION!
You’re walking in the footsteps of Jesus your Lord
Who sacrificed all, His life He out-poured,
He didn't cling to His rights with selfish futility
He didn’t claim any privilege but walked in humility.
He gave up His life to save millions of others,
This principle works in the lives of all mothers,
When you lose your own life you'll find it again,
A rewarding life, without guilt or shame.
So lift up your head, embrace your calling so high,
You're in God's perfect will, there’s no reason to sigh!
You may often feel worthless - don't listen to this lie,
Your influence goes higher than the clouds in the
sky!
As you nurture and train your God-given seed,
As you sharpen these 'arrows' by word and by deed,
You shape the nation - you determine its course,
Your mothering’s not wasted, it’s a great mighty force!
As your children leave home and go into the world
The proof of your training will soon be unfurled
You’ll influence countries where you've never been,
And down the generations its effect will be seen.
Your work is so powerful, no wonder it's tough,
But God is behind you, He's the GOD WHO IS ENOUGH,
His strength and His wisdom He will give to you,
He stands by His promises which are totally true.
He'll always be with you right through to the end
As you follow His leading and deny the world's trend,
Each morning you wake, your strength He'll renew.
He'll fill your home with His presence and His
blessed peace too.

Why Settle for Second Best?
1Ti 2:9 In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array;
modest-
well arranged, seemly, modest
apparel-
1) a lowering, letting down
2) a garment let down, dress, attire
do you notice that you are treated better when you wear a dress? that men are more polite? that they defer to you more?
do you think maybe God wanted men to be reminded that you are the "weaker vessel"?
1Pe 3:7 Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered.
think what feminine looks like? a t-shirt and jeans ? a mini dress? a tea length skirt and pretty top? i am not saying that you act like a "lady of the evening" if you are wearing jeans. BUT you do act differently than when wearing a dress.
did you know that you are more modest when wearing a skirt than pants? a skirt spread out hides a myriad of things! pants leave you exposed. try using the restroom in the woods . which item of clothing leaves you more vulnerable? more exposed? an extreme analogy but it works! and yes i do go camping in skirts. denim works well.
as for all those women who say you can't do farm chores etc in a skirt- well that makes me laugh!! what do you think women on the oregon trail wore? did you ever see an episode of little house on the prairie where ma wore pants? i think not! maybe, just maybe, if you can't do the job in a skirt then maybe you shouldn't be doing that job!
maybe God wasn't trying to put restrictions on women when He declared they should wear skirts. maybe He was elevating them!! maybe He was lifting them up high so men could honor them!!
so knowing all this- why would you settle for second best?

And Yes They Are Good!

* 1 cup Oat Flour (blend Oats In A Blender)
* ½ cups Whole Wheat Pastry Flour
* 1 cup Peanut Butter (any Kind Of Nut Butter)
* ½ cups Mashed Banana (about 1 Whole Banana)
* ⅓ cups Agave Nectar (or Honey)
Combine blended oats and wheat flour. Combine the wet ingredients and stir together with the oats and flour until a thick dough forms. Drop dough by the spoonfuls onto cookie sheets. Introduce the dough to the back of a fork to get the classic peanut butter cookie look. Bake in a 350ºF preheated oven for 10 minutes. Remove from the pan and allow to cool on a cooling rack.

is this.....
alarm goes off at 5 a.m baby has finally settled down to sleep and maybe now the rest of the house can get a little rest. too bad both mom and dad have to go to work. it's off to work, school, and the daycare center for everybody! too bad baby has a slight fever and an ear infection and needs all the sleep he can get - he'll be spending the day in the care of others, at the daycare center.
Too bad the nine year old didn't get much sleep last night due to the baby crying all night. It's off to before school care, school, and then after school care for him. Especially too bad because Junior has a big math test today and we all know a good night's sleep helps with schoolwork.
so let's see, two extremely tired children, one of them ill, are being rushed out the door when they should be left in their beds to sleep. because she was so tired, mom overslept and so there was no time for breakfast. a granola bar in the backseat, a bottle for babe (what decent working mom has time to breastfeed?) and the hopes of something to eat at the care centers is considered mealtime. Junior doesn't do well on his test, baby gets worse throughout the day, and after school care provided only another granola bar and a soda for snacktime. Junior is starving and baby is screaming and that is the scenario that greets mom.
mom realizes on the way home that A), she has a migraine and the baby's screaming isn't helping, B), she never thawed anything out for dinner, C) mcdonalds is straight ahead.
when the three of them get home, Junior turns the tv on and plops down with his burger. the show he is watching isn't age appropriate but he is quiet and that is all mom is concerned about.
baby has fallen asleep, exhausted, going to bed without dinner. mom takes her burger and gets on the computer, to do even more work at home. unhealthy food and a dad who isn't usually home for dinner - because he is still working - and you have the same scenario you had last night and the night before except they had taco bell then.
mom is too busy on the pc to help Junior with his homework so another day goes by he doesn't get his math problems.
dad comes home late, barely saying good night before Junior is hustled off to bed, mom is too tired to do laundry, so who knows what we'll wear in the morning?
maybe an exaggeration for some days but most typical for most days. for most working moms.
is this what you want for your children? is this what you want for your marriage? do you think this is God's plan for women?

If what you were eating was hurting your grandchildren, would you change it?
