GORGEOUS!

TRY to WIN this HERE

WORKS FOR ME

for more go HERE

since i have 7 children i do a lot of laundry- about 5 loads a day (sometimes more!) and i just can't be the only one washing, drying, folding and putting away all those clothes!
so i don't! what works for me is to put away the laundry as a team, with a game thrown in.
i haul the basket of dry clean clothes out to the sofa and start pulling items out. if i pull Rebekah's dress out i throw it to her with a question like "what is your favorite book?"
then i toss Parker a shirt and ask "what is your favorite cookie? "

each child gets to put away all their own laundry and answer fun questions (with a few school questions mixed in, mean mommy that i am) and i don't spend all day putting away clothes!
WORKS FOR ME!

Cause and Effect Review

It’s all-new Adventures in Odyssey episodes in volume 52, Cause & Effect.

Join Eugene and Matthew as they investigate why the clock tower at City Hall seems to be stuck at 11:45. Could it have something to do with the anniversary of a lost love from twenty years ago?
Barrett couldn’t be more excited about getting the lead role in the school play. But when his first practice is interrupted by a mysterious booming voice, Emily Jones must investigate the “phantom of the school play.”
Also, perfect for the fall season, are stories on Thanksgiving (A Thankstaking Story) and Christmas (White Elephant Gift).
Adventures in Odyssey is fun and exciting audio entertainment that teaches quality character traits and ignites the imagination of all who listen. Imagine, Discover, and Grow with Adventures in Odyssey.

ok enough with the author's take lol
here's what my 10 yr old son had to say
"i really liked it and i would give it as a gift. it actually had adventure in it!

here's what my 8 yr old daughter said-
i like how it teaches you".

my 7 yr old daughter said
"i like how it talks about love."

even my 17 yr old son, who came in halfway thru and sat down to watch had this to say
"i like how it is realistic rather than so cartoonish that it is unbelievable. the kids could relate to things like a cell phone or social networking."

well there you have it! my children liked it and i liked it becuz i can trust adventures in odyssey to help teach my children values and "be on my side" instead of having to worry about what they are watching.

Proverbs 31:27

Pro 31:27 She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness.

"She watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness." Proverbs 31:27

what does that verse mean to you?

let's examine it in light of the original language.

first off- note the pronoun SHE. the woman is the homemaker. there is no mr.mom in the bible!

looketh well-
to look out or about, spy, keep watch, observe, watch

a) (Qal) to keep watch, spy

b) (Piel) to watch, watch closely

wow! to spy! to spy on , to observe what is affecting your family. how can you do that if you aren't there?

the ways --1) going, doing, traveling company, way

a) going, walk, marching, doings

her household
- 1) house

a) house, dwelling habitation

b) shelter or abode of animals

c) human bodies (fig.)

4) home, house as containing a family

5) household, family

a) those belonging to the same household

b) family of descendants, descendants as organized body

6) household affairs

notice that household can mean the actual house (all homes need repair now and then.) and it also means the family members. as well as their activities. sometimes a mom has to juggle activities or chores etc and manage them all well but sometimes she needs to simply observe her family and see how different things affect different people. sometimes the person needs the attention, not the house or the activities.

and eateth not the bread
- means what ya think ! doesn't take it in.

of idleness- sluggishness, laziness

what exactly does sluggish mean? according to the free online dictionary it means Lacking alertness, vigor, or energy; inert or indolent. ... Displaying little movement or activity; slow; inactive

lazy - averse to or not inclined to work.

yet the bible tells us not to be that way!!

i'll let that sink and convict anyone it needs to.

Lord please give me a willingness to work, a diligence that does what is best for my family. and what please You.

sounds good in theory

have you heard that they want to make it against the rules to buy soda with food stamps? they say it's because sodas are so bad for you and the government is concerned about our diabetes and obesity rates.

while this sounds good in theory it's all a bunch of marlarky!

if the government was truly concerned about our health then booze would be illegal. then cigarettes would be off the market. then our food we buy at the store would be safe to eat. no chemicals added! vaccines wouldn't have in them what they have in them.

follow the money trail. booze makes money. cigarettes make money. chemicals added to food saves money.
vaccines make money and buying soda on the government's dime costs money!

nuff said.

Staying Home?

do you have internet in your home?

do you have cable tv?

do you have a cell phone?

do you have 2 cars?

do you see clipping coupons as not worth your time?

do you refuse to sign up for free samples because they aren't worth it?

do you have hobbies that cost any amount of money?

do you ever eat out?

do you not make a menu plan but rather throw in the cart whatever catches your eye?

do you rent dvds?

do your kids go to private school?

do you wear only namebrands and refuse to go to thrift stores?

do you redecorate because you want a new look?

if you do any of these things then maybe you are fooling yourself about not being able to stay home and be a homemaker.

is it always easy or fun to walk to the store or wait for hubby to be home so you have a car to get the groceries because you gave up your car (and it's gas and insurance bills) no but your kids are worth it.

is it fun always cooking at home instead of going out to eat? no but your kids are worth it.

is it boring to keep looking at the same couch for several years straight because you don't have the extra money to go buy one? nope but your kids are worth it.

no renting dvds, losing internet service, no more book club, no oreos in the grocery cart,- these are not fun things. but your kids are worth it.

i may sound harsh but i get so tired of hearing women say "i can't afford to stay home" when they haven't even tried! they haven't wanted to give up certain things so they don;t.
they haven't wanted trust God - honor Him and He will honor you- so they haven't.

i fed, clothed and cared for my family of 9 on $16,000 a year!!! cars cost more than that!!! ours didn't (and yes we had only one)

we didn't stop and get a soda at the drive thru even when we were hot.

we didn't have elaborate birthday parties- i made a cake, blew up a few balloons and squirted them with hose.

there were no birthday or christmas presents for the adults.

no new books here- only the library.

no new anything.

BUT we had laughter and fun at those birthday parties!

and we knew we were in God's will. i truly with my whole heart believe women should be homemakers and i get so aggravated with women who don't (i'm a type A personality, can ya tell?)

if you never trust God to take care of you then you won't be able to see that when you give up your job that your husband gets a raise. (they don't always but i have heard of many instances when they do.)

that you find a cheaper car insurance company.

that chicken goes on sale all the time when it never did before. which is terrific cuz you learned 14 new recipes for chicken.

that walmart brand canned veggies taste just as good as green giant ones.

that gardening and growing your own tomatoes is fun!

that you don't really miss all those trashy gossip magazines at the newsstands. read your bible instead!

that you are closer to the kids since you pulled them out of private school and homeschool them now.

that you really only need to own 7 outfits and you still look beautiful! best yet- you only paid $5 for each skirt at goodwill instead of $35 for each one at target.

get the drift? don't give God excuses- trust Him. i am living proof that He honors you and i would be be glad to share more if you want to ask. :)

Puttering

i love it when the weather turns cool. i love opening up the windows and feeling the breeze.

i love baking extra goodies because the season seems to call for it.

i love puttering around my home. straightening an off center picture, putting flowers in a mason jar on the dining table, spreading out a new tablecloth.

painting the girls' room a light shade of pink is next on the list.we've pared down the toys and rearranged the dresser toppers i.e the rocks from hannah's collection and the glass animals.

i have thrown out old magazines, straightened junk drawers , bought pumpkin scented candles, switched out pillows on the sofa for more autumnal ones ( am i the only one who switches pillows with each season?) and tried new recipes.

i had the kids clean off the porch and carport, and put a new shade on an old lamp . all my fall decor is out! leaves adorn the archway between the dining room and the living room. i even rearranged all the pics in the house ( no small feat!)

i have been using the time in the evening when it isn't dark yet and the kids are begging for a little more time outside , hubby isn't home yet but supper is ready , to just putter. and plan for bigger changes, like painting rooms.

i love to putter. you?

What to Blog About

I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO BLOG ABOUT!

do i blog about recipes and such so you maybe learn something new to try in the kitchen?

do i take pictures of my children so you go "aw"?

do i wax poetic so you think i am wonderful?

do i go all political on you so you know my opinions and hopefully share my views?

do i share the Gospel? are you already saved?

i want you to work well in the kitchen.

i am proud of my children.

i want you to be aware of what is going on in our country so you can fight back!

BUT MOST OF ALL i want you to know the Lord in a personal way. i want you to have a relationship with Him but not get so caught up in the word relationship that you miss the true message of the Bible.
i want you to know without a single doubt, deep in your heart, that ou are going to heaven and not hell. to know that Christ is Lord of your life, not just someone you sing about on sundays.

i want you to live for Christ, not becuz you have to but becuz you have come to know Him in such a way that you want to.

i want you to be willing to die for Him.
like He was for you.

He saw your sin, said I'll take it and took your punishment. yours and mine. I have accepted Him, have you?

if you aren't sure or want to know more PLEASE write me and i'll be more than happy to tell you about my Savior.
