do you have internet in your home?
do you have cable tv?
do you have a cell phone?
do you have 2 cars?
do you see clipping coupons as not worth your time?
do you refuse to sign up for free samples because they aren't worth it?
do you have hobbies that cost any amount of money?
do you ever eat out?
do you not make a menu plan but rather throw in the cart whatever catches your eye?
do you rent dvds?
do your kids go to private school?
do you wear only namebrands and refuse to go to thrift stores?
do you redecorate because you want a new look?
if you do any of these things then maybe you are fooling yourself about not being able to stay home and be a homemaker.
is it always easy or fun to walk to the store or wait for hubby to be home so you have a car to get the groceries because you gave up your car (and it's gas and insurance bills) no but your kids are worth it.
is it fun always cooking at home instead of going out to eat? no but your kids are worth it.
is it boring to keep looking at the same couch for several years straight because you don't have the extra money to go buy one? nope but your kids are worth it.
no renting dvds, losing internet service, no more book club, no oreos in the grocery cart,- these are not fun things. but your kids are worth it.
i may sound harsh but i get so tired of hearing women say "i can't afford to stay home" when they haven't even tried! they haven't wanted to give up certain things so they don;t.
they haven't wanted trust God - honor Him and He will honor you- so they haven't.
i fed, clothed and cared for my family of 9 on $16,000 a year!!! cars cost more than that!!! ours didn't (and yes we had only one)
we didn't stop and get a soda at the drive thru even when we were hot.
we didn't have elaborate birthday parties- i made a cake, blew up a few balloons and squirted them with hose.
there were no birthday or christmas presents for the adults.
no new books here- only the library.
no new anything.
BUT we had laughter and fun at those birthday parties!
and we knew we were in God's will. i truly with my whole heart believe women should be homemakers and i get so aggravated with women who don't (i'm a type A personality, can ya tell?)
if you never trust God to take care of you then you won't be able to see that when you give up your job that your husband gets a raise. (they don't always but i have heard of many instances when they do.)
that you find a cheaper car insurance company.
that chicken goes on sale all the time when it never did before. which is terrific cuz you learned 14 new recipes for chicken.
that walmart brand canned veggies taste just as good as green giant ones.
that gardening and growing your own tomatoes is fun!
that you don't really miss all those trashy gossip magazines at the newsstands. read your bible instead!
that you are closer to the kids since you pulled them out of private school and homeschool them now.
that you really only need to own 7 outfits and you still look beautiful! best yet- you only paid $5 for each skirt at goodwill instead of $35 for each one at target.
get the drift? don't give God excuses- trust Him. i am living proof that He honors you and i would be be glad to share more if you want to ask. :)
